Industrial and Fire Safety

Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) is entrusted for administration of Factories Act, 1948 in all Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Units as per Section 23 of the Atomic Energy Act, 1962. Accordingly, AERB enforces the provisions of the Factories Act, 1948 and the Atomic Energy (Factories) Rules, 1996 in the units of DAE other than BARC.

Fire Safety aspects of Nuclear fuel cycle facilities like NFC, HWPs, UCIL facilities, exploration facilities (AMD), research centres such as VECC, RRCAT etc., Nuclear Power operating Plants & Projects by NPCIL and BHAVINI., other industrial plants of DAE, excluding BARC facilities are regulated by AERB.
